Our History
XYZ Apparel Network began in 1984 in the heart of the New York garment district. Founded in the spirit of Oved Group, the company started as a focused outerwear supplier serving department stores and regional chains — a small team with a large ambition and an address within walking distance of the mills, trims houses and showrooms that shaped American fashion.
Over four decades we grew beyond a single category. We added activewear and sportswear as the athleisure market expanded. We built a denim programme when premium and value denim diverged into two distinct businesses. We entered sleepwear, loungewear, childrenswear and layette to serve families across every retail tier. And we learned, sometimes the hard way, that surviving in apparel requires more than good design. It requires control of the supply chain.
That lesson became our operating model. We opened owned sourcing offices close to our manufacturing partners. We built compliance, quality assurance and packaging functions in-house rather than relying on third parties. We invested in systems that show work-in-progress at the style, colour and size level. By the time retail consolidation and the rise of digital commerce reshaped the industry, we were already structured to adapt.
In 2019 the group unified its divisions under a single identity: XYZ Apparel Network. The name reflects both the portfolio of labels we design and operate, and the industry network — vendors, logistics partners, licensors, retailers and marketplace platforms — that makes delivery possible.

Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability
Responsible sourcing is not a marketing position for us — it is an operating requirement. Every supplier in our network is measured against a published code of conduct covering labour standards, chemical management and environmental performance, and every scorecard is tied to continued partnership.
- Restricted substances list aligned to AFIRM and ZDHC guidance.
- Third-party factory audits with tracked corrective and preventive actions.
- Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier mapping with traceability documentation.
- Packaging compliance, recycled-content targets and waste-reduction programmes.
- Annual supplier scorecards covering quality, delivery, compliance and cost.
We do not consider a programme complete because the goods shipped. It is complete when the retailer reorders and the consumer comes back.
Michael R. Alden, Chief Executive Officer
